OUR FAMILY & FARM

Farming is an integral part of life here on the Big Island- the land has been used for agriculture dating back to the early Hawaiian’s. With almost every climate zone known to mankind, the island provides unique opportunities to cultivate just about anything! We are working with Hawai’i farmers to create experiences that benefit all involved and keep money circulating in our communities, by supporting local businesses, providing farmers with extra sources of income, and practicing sustainable initiatives.

Hawaii ECO Experiences highlights some of the most vast, beautiful agricultural and conservation land in the State of Hawaii. Collaborating with sister companies Ka’u Coffee Mill, OK Farms, Hamakua Macadamia Nut company, and surrounding conservation properties. These beautiful cascading hills and green businesses are all thanks to the vision and intentions of one man, Edmund C. Olson (ECO).

Mr. Olson began purchasing property on the Big Island in 1988, starting with a piece of land along the Wailuku river that is now where he resides and later became the start of a 300 acre tropical fruit farm, OK Farms. Soon after acquiring this property, he began purchasing more land for both conservation and agriculture throughout the island. The Olson Trust was founded by Mr. Olson to manage the use of the land and entities. Donating over 2000 acres to the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust, he has made significant contributions to keep prized public land in conservation.  Along with Mr. Olson’s preservation efforts, he has also made significant donations to nonprofits and native Hawaiian groups in the State.

Mahalo Nui to Mr. Edmund C. Olson!
